Australia’s energy system isn’t working.
Prices are up, reliability is down, and emissions have seen no significant reduction since the former Coalition Government was in power.

By using Australia’s energy strengths, we can support industry, reduce emissions, and make life more affordable for every household.
Labor promised a $275 cut to household power bills. The reality is, prices have jumped almost 40%.
Labor have spent more than $75 billion only to deliver higher prices.
Labor’s 2035 target would force up to $530 billion in extra spending. That is $50,000 per household.
At a time where Australians are struggling to meet mortgage payments, afford rent or put food on the table, this level of spending does not pass the pub test.
Under the Coalition, Australia was cutting emissions at almost twice the rate of other developed nations.
For Labor to continue chasing targets that renewable technology isn’t ready to physically or economically facilitate, is unrealistic and fiscally irresponsible.
We want to see a balanced energy mix, harnessing all available energy technologies to make energy affordable. This includes:
- Renewables in the right places.
- Hydro and storage.
- More gas supply, including an east coast gas reservation scheme.
- No premature closure of coal plants, which provide critical baseload power.
- Lifting the ban on zero-emissions nuclear energy, which 19 of the world’s 20 largest economies are using or moving towards.
We remain committed to the Paris Agreement. Our plan will reduce emissions year on year on average and match the real performance of developed countries. We will reduce emissions as quickly as technology allows.
This is how we’ll secure our energy future. Affordable power, responsible emissions reduction and a practical, balanced path that strengthens the country.
