Here are just some of the things I’ve been up to so far this year:

June:

• Attended the Gold Coast Australian of the Year Awards Presentation where we celebrated the outstanding individuals who give so much to our community.
• Connected with some inspiring women from our local tourism industry at the Women in Tourism Breakfast in Robina.
• Joined our community for the iconic Cooly Rocks On Festival where we celebrated local artists, classic cars, and the unique retro culture that brings Coolangatta to life.
• Joined Palm Beach Scouts for their Annual Report Presentation.
• Addressed the Tugun Progress Association to provide an update on Federal matters, and hear from locals about what matters to them.
• Joined Mr Kindy in Varsity Lakes for International Button Battery Awareness Day.
• Attended the Gold Coast Chamber of Commerce event at Burleigh Heads, connecting with local professionals and small business owners to hear about what matters most to them.
• Paid a visit to Varsity Views Care Community for their ‘Varsity Rocks On’ event where residents and their families came together for an afternoon of music, dance, and connection.
• Attended the Lions Club of Burleigh Heads changeover dinner to thank their outgoing executive for all their work.
• Joined our community for the Mudgeeraba Agricultural Show.
• Met with Friends of Rainbow Bay to discuss local concerns and opportunities.

July:

• In my first week in Federal Parliament I met with both the Opposition Leader and Minister for Infrastructure to advocate for the projects needed to support our rapidly growing community.
• Joined several of our Surf Lifesaving Clubs to celebrate their members and volunteers at their end of season awards nights. These include; Currumbin Beach SLSC, North Kirra SLSC, Tallebudgera SLSC, Pacific SLSC and Tugun SLSC.
• Together with our community, we celebrated Fight 4 Youth’s 10th birthday.
• Attended several Neighbourhood Watch meetings including Elanora, Billinga, and Mudgeeraba.
• Celebrated the beginning of the 2025 season with the Currumbin Eagles at their Sponsors Afternoon.
• Held a joint community safety forum with Herman Vorster MP and Councillor Dan Doran.
• Delivered my Maiden Speech in the House of Representatives where I reflected on the values that guide me and the outcomes I hope to achieve during my time in public service.

August:

• Attended the 2025 Titans Cultural Night where we celebrated our vibrant multicultural community.
• Joined the Bond University community for the official opening of their AFL Club’s new grandstand.
• Joined the Coolangatta SLSC for a committee meeting to hear about what matters most to their members and volunteers.
• Connected with the Caningeraba State School’s P&C at one of their general meetings.
• Spent an evening volunteering with Rosies Outreach to support those doing it tough.
• Paid a visit to Vision Australia in Robina to hear about the important work they are doing and where they could use support.
• Joined the Mudgeeraba Chamber of Commerce for the AGM to hear about the issues that matter most to their members.
• Celebrated 20 years of the Elanora Police Beat.
• Joined my RSL Club at Burleigh to run a morning Bunnings BBQ.

September:

• Hosted a school captain morning tea at my office where we discussed youth engagement, civics education and explored ways for students to connect with Parliament and have their say.
• Connected with our thriving tech community for ‘First Friday’s at The Mondrian’ and heard about where their industry could use more support.
• Joined the Kirra SLSC for their Sportsman Lunch.
• Attended the Wildlife for Tomorrow charity event at the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary, raising vital funds for their work.
• Joined the Robina community to celebrate the opening of the new City Village Park.
• Attended the Titans Leagueability Presentation where we celebrated players across the Physical Disability, Intellectual Disability, and All-Abilities divisions.
• Joined the students of St Andrews for their Year 6 Exhibition where I heard their practical ideas on real-world issues.
• Helped raise vital funds for breast cancer research at the Burleigh in Pink fundraiser breakfast.
• Celebrated our talented local artists at the SWELL Sculpture Festival.
• Joined the Bond University community for their student’s club sign on day where I had the opportunity to meet dozens of young people and hear about what matters most to them.
• Attended the National Police Remembrance Day Service where we honoured those who paid the ultimate price in the line of service.

October:

• Celebrated the inaugural McPherson Honours awards, my initiative to help recognise some of the outstanding locals who make the southern Gold Coast the wonderful community that it is.
• Met with representatives from Transport and Main Roads to discuss several infrastructure projects that would drastically improve the southern Gold Coasts traffic congestion and overall liveability, whilst improving the lives of thousands of southern Gold Coasters.
• Joined the PBC Cricket Club and the broader community to celebrate their 2025 Season Launch.
• Attended the very informative ‘Prep Your Kit Day’ alongside our community as we prepared for storm season.
• Spent time with the Arcadia College Community for their (highly competitive, might I add) Trivia Night.
• Joined the Robina City Football Club for their Academy Presentation night.
• Alongside our community, I cheered on our talented Surf Lifesaving athletes in the Coolangatta Gold.

November:

• Joined Mudgeeraba Special School where we celebrated all of the outstanding students at their awards night.
• Hosted a delegation of state legislators, mayors, senior government officials and policy leaders from the United States to show them around our beautiful Gold Coast.
• Celebrated the outstanding students of Kings Christian College for their Primary School Awards.
• Caught up with residents in TriCare Clear Island waters as we celebrated a special 90th birthday.
• Celebrated the outstanding women of our community at the Gold Coast Bulletin, Women of the Year Awards.
